North of Lake Louise there is approximately 40cm of settled snowpack in the alpine. Ice climbers be wary in lee gulley features. It is still early season with many obstacles still protruding through the snowpack. Be patient and save your ACL.

Windslabs, up to 20cm thick, can be encountered in the immediate lee of alpine features. However, reports from the Lake Louise ski area say that these slabs did not react to skier traffic or explosives today.
