Avalanche Problems

Storm Slabs

Snow flurries produced 10 - 22cm of snow overnight. Moderate Southwest winds will move snow to slabs on Northeast aspects adding more load to the buried surface hoar layer. Initiating a small slide has the potential to step down to this weakness.

Aspects: North, North East, East, South East, South.

Elevations: All elevations.

Likelihood: Likely

Expected Size: 1 - 3

Persistent Slabs

The buried suface hoar layer remains touchy in locations where it did not slide in last week's storm cycle. Cracking and whumphing are still occurring. Extra caution is needed for slopes that did not slide in the last storm.

Aspects: All aspects.

Elevations: All elevations.

Likelihood: Possible - Likely

Expected Size: 2 - 4
