Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Eighteen inches of snow with strong winds early in the week have combined to create slabs to two feet in depth on lee slopes. The new snow came in on light density snow that sits on smooth crusts. This slippery situation will make slides easily triggered by backcountry travelers on steep, wind loaded areas. Stay out of ravines and do not sit under slopes while others are riding them.
