These hard wind slabs are between 25 and 35 cm deep. The recent new snow of about 10 cm can hide these wind slabs that until recently have been active. It may still be possible to trigger this layer in select features from thin areas.

Deep Persistent Slabs

The mid pack is bridging the weak facets at the base of the snowpack. This weak layer is found almost everywhere except in deeper areas such las Little Yoho. Thin areas are where the likelihood of triggering this layer is highest.
