Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. New snow and winds will begin to form new soft surface slabs on leeward aspects. These slabs will form on hard old snow surfaces and weak layers of surface hoar which will become good sliding surfaces. Older deep slabs could still be triggered on very steep wind loaded aspects that have not had recent activity especially by larger triggers such as high marking snowmobilers, cornice drops or large groups.
