Highlights
The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today. New snow and wind have deposited new shallow surface slabs in avalanche terrain. These slabs will be shallow in wind loaded areas this morning and will increase in size and sensitivity as the day progresses. In the afternoon today these slabs could be released by backcountry users. Once triggered these slabs could pull out deeper layers of recent snow to three feet in depth on steep slopes particularly near cliff and rocky areas.
