Highlights

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE today and will INCREASE as the day warms. Surface slabs up to 18 inches in depth lie on slick crusts. These slabs could be triggered on steep wind loaded aspects especially as temperatures warm and have potential to pull out deeper slabs to three feet in depth. On Wednesday a snowmobiler triggered a slab on an east facing slope at an elevation of 8,000 feet. Wet loose slides are possible on steep sunlit aspects as temperatures rise today.
