Snowpack Summary

There is more snow at upper elevations than normal for this time of year. Expect to find snow patches extending to lower elevations than typical. These can make for good travel if frozen and supportive but can be a source of avalanches and rockfall on warm days.

Avalanche Summary

Large avalanches have continued to occurred into the middle of July this summer on high peaks. Bring avalanche rescue equipment if traveling in avalanche terrain. Use extra caution if the surface snow has not refrozen overnight and watch for wind slabs in the alpine following snow.
