Summary

Confidence

Fair - Due to the number of field observations

Weather Forecast

The next three days look dry, cool and sunny, with the freezing level near valley bottom. There is the possibility of a layer of warm air forming at ridge top on Sunday. A frontal system is expected to bring snow late Monday. For more details check out avalanche.ca/weather.

Avalanche Summary

No recent avalanches have been reported. A natural avalanche cycle occurred, with slabs up to size 2.5, during last weekend's storm.

Snowpack Summary

Check out the recent conditions video at http://bit.ly/1MEL7cdThere is certainly enough snow for avalanches, with anywhere from 60-150 cm on the ground. Heavy snow which fell during last weekend's storm is likely to have bonded somewhat. However, with limited information, I would tread cautiously and gather plenty of information as you go. It sounds like there are one or two thick, supportive crusts buried in the upper snowpack. So far, we only have limited information from the field. Submit yours to the MIN!
