Salt River and Wyoming Ranges

The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE. Slabs up to two feet in depth persist in the starting zones of known avalanche paths, cliff areas and on the steep walls of cirques and basins. The potential for a person, especially someone on a snow machine, to trigger one of these slabs continues.

Temperatures Tuesday morning will be in the low teens then warm to the low 20s during the day. Ridge top winds will be southwesterly at 25 miles per hour with stronger gusts.The general avalanche hazard will be MODERATE in the Tetons and Greys River areas. Constant west and northwest winds will continue to build easily triggered soft slabs to a foot in depth on lee slopes at elevations above 9000 feet. In the Togwotee pass area the hazard will be LOW. The snowpack is mostly stable but skiers, riders or snowmachiners on very steep, extreme slopes or cliff areas could trigger avalanches to two feet in depth.
