Avalanche Summary

No new avalanches have been reported.

Snowpack Summary

Expect to find a widespread thick crust at all higher elevations, treeline and above. You may find up to 10 cm of new snow sitting atop this crust in isolated areas. Below the crust the snow is moist. The crust should now bridge any previous layers of concern deeper in the snowpack.

Friday

Partly cloudy with no precipitation, northwest alpine winds 10 to 20 km/h, treeline temperature -5 °C.

Saturday

Mostly cloudy with snow beginning mid-day 10 to 20 cm, south alpine winds 50 to 70 km/h, treeline temperature -5 °C.

Sunday

Cloudy with 10 to 30 cm of snow, southwest alpine winds 40 to 50 km/h, treeline temperature 0 °C.

Terrain and Travel Advice

  • When a thick, melt-freeze surface crust is present, avalanche activity is unlikely.
  • Expect shallow snow cover that barely covers ground roughness.
