Temperatures will range from -18 in the morning to highs of -7 through the day and winds from the south will pickup in the afternoon into the moderate range. A relatively benign weather pattern persists for the next few days.
Snowpack Summary
Significant wind effect exists in all alpine areas with isolated wind slabs in steep lee areas of the high alpine. Soft surface snow remains just below ridge crests at treeline. The upper snowpack is faceting and this has diminished the sensitivity of wind slabs and rendered the four layers of surface hoar that exist in the upper snowpack dormant.
