Salt River and Wyoming Ranges

The general avalanche hazard at all elevations is LOW in the early morning hours and will increase to MODERATE as temperatures warm and snow surfaces soften. In the afternoon very warm temperatures and abundant sunshine will combine to increase the hazard to CONSIDERABLE. The potential for natural wet loose and wet slab avalanches to occur on very steep slopes will increase as the day progresses. The potential for dry slab avalanches to be human triggered on very steep northerly aspects will also increase as temperatures warm. If released these slab avalanches (wet or dry) are likely to fail on weak layers of buried faceted snow and could fail to the ground in some loactions.
