Salt River and Wyoming Ranges

The General Avalanche Hazard is CONSIDERABLE today. Recent strong west winds and snow have formed slabs that lie upon lighter snow, and buried weak, faceted snow such as surface hoar. This weakness deep in the snowpack may be triggered by the second or later rider on avalanche prone slopes bringing down slides over two feet in depth.
