The Bulletin is "Until Further Notice".  Please check before you head out, we will be updating if there is significant change expected.

Weather Forecast

A typical diurnal pattern is expected for the rest of the season with variable and increasingly higher freezing levels occurring daily. Forecasted Spring storms are expected and could easily produce heavy snowfall, poor visibility and hide exposed hazards like rocks and stumps. Get after your objectives early.

Snowpack Summary

A seasonally typical melt freeze cycle. This building crust will continue to bridge a weak, isothermal snowpack on most tree-line and alpine slopes. This crust will break down over the day and become increasingly hazardous for triggering with rising temperatures, solar input or rain. Dry snow can be found at the highest elevations along the divide.

Avalanche Summary

Spring afternoon cycle can be expected daily as the season closes.

Confidence

Avalanche Problems

Loose Wet

Will be an issue for the rest of the season, most typically on solar aspects.
Be very cautious with gully features.Avoid sun exposed slopes when the solar radiation is strong, especially if snow is moist or wet.

Aspects: All aspects.

Elevations: All elevations.

Likelihood: Possible

Expected Size: 2 - 3

Deep Persistent Slabs

Assume this will continue to linger for the time being.
Avoid shallow snowpack areas where triggering is more likely.Travel early on frozen crusts before the heat of the day.

Aspects: All aspects.

Elevations: Alpine, Treeline.

Likelihood: Possible

Expected Size: 2 - 3

Cornices

Cornice failures is possible. Avoid slopes with cornices overhead.
Cornices become weak with daytime heating.

Aspects: North, North East, East, South East, South.

Elevations: Alpine.

Likelihood: Possible

Expected Size: 1 - 2
