Quick report

Quick afternoon lap to check on glide cracks from earlier in the season and see if there was any larger, recent activity. Road was drivable with almost no snow up to 3800’, then primarily consistent coverage to Camp Misery. Switchback trail was hike+ski until 4600’. -

  • Recent cornice failures above N facing slope - 11 glide cracks visible on S and W faces
  • Many loose wet avalanches up to D1 and one D1.5 in steep and rocky terrain on all aspects visible NE, N, SW, W
  • 1x soft slab avalanche, D1.5 on W facing slope
  • Snow in treed terrain was wetter than exposed areas (sheltered from the wind) no matter the aspect. Ski pen was 3” on avg throughout the day,
