Quick report
The open traverse sections on Big Quilcene had large slides with debris covering the trail. In climbing on top of the debris with snowshoes, the debris felt refrozen into place and quite solid. I did try to boot it for the first couple of feet of the debris fields, but was punching through pockets of snow and debris. Using 22in snowshoes kept us afloat of the new snow (4-6in) on top of the debris. The weather was predicted to hover around freezing, which matched our experience. Not too cold, but the gusty wind chilled and moved a lot of surface snow up the mountain. Felt safe as the slopes had already run, would have been nice if it was in the lower 20s.
Avalanche
All of the open slopes on Upper Big Quilcene trail starting at approximately 3.8mi from the trailhead had recent avalanche activity. While in the trees the natural anchoring appeared to prevent any slides. From the size of some of the avalanche debris, length and slope of the runout I would estimate these to be D2 avalanches.
