Skied Skip Mountain near Rupert. -5 degrees C along the Skeena with well developed widespread surface hoar at lower tree line elevations. Inversion further up into the valley and along the ridge. Skied a northwest facing slope with an excellent right side up well consolidated snowpack, quality AAA+!! Only very localized minor wind effect seen on small convexities, creating a 1-2cm crust. Ski pen was roughly 15cm. Nil for wind. Despite my efforts I could not trigger anything even in areas with the minor crust.
Skied Skip Mountain near Rupert. -5 degrees C along the Skeena with well developed widespread surface hoar at lower tree line elevations. Inversion further up into the valley and along the ridge. Skied an east/northeast facing slope with an excellent right side up well consolidated snowpack, quality AAA+!! Only very localized minor wind effect seen on small convexities, creating a 1-2cm crust. Ski pen was roughly 15cm. Nil for wind. Despite my efforts I could not trigger anything even in areas with the minor crust. ***updated from previous report where I accidentally wrote northwest instead of the dominantly northeasterly slope that was skied!
