Quick Observation
Trees: ~40cm of snow. Pockets of powder in denser trees where the snow remained shaded. Areas of sun penetration created a 2cm crust with faceted snow underneath. By 11 am the areas in the sun became very sticky and heavy. Treeline: ~30cm of snow. Wind affected with a 3cm breakable crust. Difficult skiing. Alpine: 0-40cm of snow. Bulletproof crusts in spots with mostly 3cm breakable crust. West slopes were stripped of snow from previous winds. Pinwheeling from high temps on Friday on south facing slopes. Saturday's heat softened the crust making skiing punchy.
