Snowshoed up Windy Joe today and while not a ski destination, thought folks might be interested in conditions in Manning.
Weather
Very warm, above zero at summit and 2C at car (1200m). Snow melting off trees like crazy.
Snowpack
We dug to the ground beside the Windy Joe fire lookout to see how much snow there was. We observed 30cm of new snow from the past few days on top of a ~3cm crust. The snow under the crust appeared to be faceted. Only 60cm total at 1840m and much less in treed areas lower down.
