We went looking for less wind hammered snow today around the North side of log cabin and found some hard but skiable surfaces with 5 cm of fresh on top. The day started with some SW ground blizzard but the sky opened up at noon and the wind died off. We rode around in the meadows a bit and stepping off the running boards was a recipe for sinking up to your hip in the thinly covered willows. Higher up as we got out of the trees the surface got quite hard and we probed some areas that were surprisingly deep (200cm) at 1150m. We heard whumpfing on small steep features and stuck to relatively low angle terrain that was planar to find the best riding. Hopefully it snow more soon!
