Took a stormy stroll up Prospector today to check things out. During the skin we noted shooting cracks triggered by body weight as well as by deep pole strikes. There has also been significant wind loading along the ridge and we were able to release small cornices with single pole strikes above open faces. Due to these observations we chose to stick to treed slopes and move slowly, skiing off the N/NE aspect of Prospector.
The photos were taken skiers right of the Knifes Edge at the top of Prospector where we released multiple small slabs as we ski cut our way to lower angle terrain where things were much more stable and enjoyable!
