Ochre felt a bit like a ski resort with tracks everywhere, but the sunny day still made for some fun turns and there’s definitely still soft snow to be found. It felt very spring-like with a clear inversion, and there was surface hoar on the snow and in the trees. That’s something to keep in mind if more snow stacks up on top of it down the line.
Overall, it was a great day out. We didn’t see any signs of instability, but the warming was noticeable. There were quite a few tree bombs, and snow was sticking to our skins on the way up, which all fits with the warmer temps.
