Upper canyon Creek

Strong outflow winds drifting snow in any opening from valley bottom up. - 16 air temp below treeline but much colder with windchill. Good day to witness mountain hazards other than avalanches. Trees >1100m had reached a tipping point of snow load, wind and cold. ~5 broken trees in last 24hrs and witnessed a 35cm diameter tree snap 15m in front of us breaking another top and landing directly on the trail. Close call and we turned around.
