Where I travelled below treeline, the snowpack was up to 50 cm deep, wet, and unsupportive. In open areas, still below treeline, the overnight freeze was up to 10 cm thick at 10 am, and was already a soft, wet grain layer at about 2 PM. Near treeline on the south aspect, the snowpack was about 50 cm deep with the top of 10 -15 cm frozen in the morning and completely wet grains in the afternoon. On the east aspect, the snow depth was 1-1.2 m, with a moist-to-wet snowpack from top to bottom and a couple of wetting front stall layers. On the north aspect, the snowpack was 1 - 1.2 m deep, and with the exception of the top 5 cm, the snowpack was dry to moist.
