Quick Observation
Headed up Connaught to go check out 8812. Snow was fresh and deep after recent storm. Had to put the track in most of the way which led to more cautious travel over the Bruin’s Ridge convexity (nothing to report). Dug a pit, extended column and CT on similar aspect to our intended line in 8812. Extended column (ECT N) , fractures at 20 and beyond but no propagation. Compression Test (CTH), again, fracturing at 20+ but irregular [sorry Nick if my words are not up to your standard ] With that result, moved on towards the bowl. Blue sky popped out and gave us a beautiful fresh lap down the bowl. Went for a bonus Ursus trees lap on the way out. Skin track out is gnarly for snowboarders given the recent slides during the climax event. Ask me how I know. *noticed a few slabs on similar aspects below Ursus Minor and Video Peak. See final picture. * Be Mindful out there!
