Amazing riding quality with deep powder at Needle today! Surface snow stayed consistent throughout the day. Minimal snowfall, no noticeable wind, and periods of sunshine. Observed two small natural slab avalanches on a steep east aspect just below the ridge around 1700 m. Small pinwheels forming on sun-affected aspects around mid day, same elevation. No other obvious signs of instability. Large cornices off visible ridges of Flatiron and Needle/Markhor.
Approach trail very loaded near the ridge. Ridge was skiable but rocks just below the surface. NE bowl moderate distribution but made for excellent turns.
