Open slopes at the top skied soft and smooth but not very deep. Cut runs had a few cm of new snow covering old tracks but the snow turned wet near the bottom of the run.
In the early afternoon it started snowing with moderate wind at the ridge from W/NW that was transporting snow. It was -1° at tree line.
The early Feb crust was on the surface in some places and as deep as 90cm in other places at tree line. We dug a profile where we found crust down 90 cm on NE aspect at 1500m. We observed .5-1 mm rounding facets above crust without a significant hardness change compared to the snow above. We did an ECT and got a (ECTN 13) moderate result that initially did not propagate across the entire column down 45 cm where we observed a hardness change from 4 F to 1 F. We also did a CT and had no test results on the facets/crust. Total HS was 240cm.
We did not observe any recent avalanches. We saw some older debris on Evelyn but it looked fairly old and mostly erased by wind.
