Headed over to Christiana Trees for some lower angle touring. Below 1400m, a 1-2cm crust is covering all the new snow. Above 1400m, this layer starts to dissappear, but the snow was very wet and heavy. Would recommend bringing skin wax. Upper tree skiing was powder but the surface hoar layer was very present.
We did encounter some shooting cracks and storm snow movement in the steeper sections of Christiana Trees. The storm slab was the only thing to move and did not pick up momentum, it only reacted in the upper elevations. The lower we got, the heavier and denser the snow became, with no noticeable reaction below 1500m.
