Quick Observation

Went up to highwood ridge as to avoid the pocaterra ski resort. Found significant wind affected snow in the bowl but no other red flags while ascending. Height of snow at 2416 was 155cm (obviously blown in) Dug a pit and the 3cm windslab on top was just covering a layer of rotten snow. This layer failed on column isolation. No other results on any of the deeper crust/rain layers. Overall better than expected skiing with how wind hammered and tracked everything is and a great base to start the season. South facing slopes were starting to shed this top windslab layer when they got hit with the sun around noon
