Quick Observation

Saw signs of point release avalanches on isolated steep solar aspects in the alpine (Endless Chain) enroute to Hilda. Wind slab present on alpine ridges exposed to the recent NE winds and previous SW winds. We found good riding in protected areas in the alpine.

Weather

Another beautiful clear and sunny day in the mountains! -14 felt warm.

Snowpack

Evidence of surface facets below treeline. Wind exposed areas in the alpine had wind crusts that were drummy and had some minor cracking. Quick tests of the snowpack revealed facets beneath wind crust and no concerning interfaces in the layers.
