Quick Observation

Spent the weekend at the Wendy Thompson hut and was very pleased with the snow we found. Mostly rode SW facing terrain off "Wishbone Peak." Anything near the ridge crest is scoured with wind slab formation. Upper slopes consisted of fantastic pow, a slight sun crust appeared on the lower slopes. Our pit revealed a weak layer at ~60cm. Snow depth ~185cm @ 2050m. CT results: SP 30 & SP 25 of weak layer. It seemed that this weak layer was only triggered once the initial 25cm of snow had been compacted/removed. Many other fine pockets of snow in the basin as well. The run "Honey Bronzed.." is permanently shaded and skied very well.
