Quick Observation
Great day skiing around Emerald Lake, as the forecast says West of the Divide is skiing well. Skied the slide path via Hamilton lake trail, as well as some smaller lines on the way. Below treeline slide path is fairly skied out with good coverage, but great powder skiing to be found in the alpine. Skintrack on Hamilton lake trail in good condition, some trees to step over. Saw lots of parties heading for the Tophat traverse today 25-40cm of fist snow on top of old surfaces. Ski pen ~10-20cm trail breaking. Snow supportive except in thin windswept alpine ridges where we hit rocks and damaged skins :( Entire day saw no sign of wind effect, only evidence of natural activity being old loose dry out of extreme terrain. Dig pit at 2200m on 16° SE aspect, found HS 110, top 37cm fist PP snow, midpack uniform 1F snow, bottom 10-15cm 4f facets with oct crust in the middle. 2x CTN results
