Went for an overnight at Farm Cabin via winter route on Saturday. Started with a generous 2" of snow at the trailhead and bushwhacked to about 1250m, where ~30cm of snow finally allowed skis on. HS was ~70-80cm at 1500m, snow was light and fluffy.
Sunday morning was close to 0°C and the snow at the cabin was wet and heavy. We took the summer route down to avoid repeating the heinous bushwhack from the way up.
Below ~1400m there was 10-15cm of snow that was poorly bonded and sluffed easily on turns. We skied the open trees around the summer trail with decent coverage to about 1250m. Picked our way down to ~1150m where we took our skis off and hiked the rest of the way out.
Would suggest waiting for more snow if you care about your skis and mental well-being.
