Core Lodge was deeeep! BTL there was 60 to 80cm low density storm snow that made for over the hood face shots while breaking trail. We spent the day getting the the Core Lodge weather station up and running.
Two air masses are duking it out along the North Rockies. The result is lots of deep, dry powder and abrupt temperature changes. We came across a massive inversion (warm air over cold air) that jumped from -29°C to -4°C in one turn along the trail!
