Skier dropped into an open alpine slope. A small avalanche (size 1) was triggered, fracturing a small amount above the skier. Avalanche carried the skier approximate 5 meters down the slope and the skier was able to get to the side. Slope was south east facing. Wind was heavily blowing in a general south to north direction. We immediately left the open slope back onto the skin track along a ridge and rode the skin track down and into trees area. The snow quality went from wind scoured to soft snow in the trees. Wind has been changing directions, leading us to believe the slope was likely wind loaded from prior winds, but appeared wind swept on Feb 14 due to the heavy south wind. No photos as we had to leave the area to safety.
