Experiences major whumpfing from 25cm of new heavy snow on top of a fragile crust now about 35cms deep. Heard 2 massive Avalanches happen near by at 13:30 and 14:00. We were below tree line at this point and could not see where exactly. Scary. Snow was great in the morning between the upper ridge line and copper hut. A bit heavy and hard to get much speed on lower angles. We left the hut and headed towards Saddle Cabin at about 13:00. The warming temp in the mid morning quickly turned the beautiful new snow into a heavy wet layer.
Heard 2 massive Avalanches kick off at 13:30 and 14:00 on Tuesday the 15th. We were close to valley bottom exiting the copper hut and could not see, but the sound alone was enough to leave us shaking. Curious to know exactly where and how big they were if anyone has more info.
Moderate snow falling and winds with dense fog at ridge line at 10:00. Turning to wet flurries and light fog at 1900m. Turned to overcast with sunny breaks around 13:00.
