Very wet and heavy snow this morning, especially on the lower half of the mountain. Riding conditions were not great. Noted a lot of collapsing, increasing in frequency as we ascended. After one particularly big collapse, I dug a quick hand pit to the ground and found a few inches of fairly large-grained faceted snow that was moist and could be squeezed into a snowball, but still much weaker than the snow on top of it.
