After 1.5 ft of new snow Tues-Thursday, snowpack was melting fast below 8700 ft elevation on a sunny and warm Saturday. We ascended cautiously on microspikes, took a detour hike on a bare Meiss South, before skinning up Meiss North. The windswept snowpack on the northeast ridge held firm & stable in the early afternoon to 9000 ft, while the snow at 8500 ft was heavy and showing signs of melt by mid-afternoon.
