Quick report
Lots of crowns and old debris from the avalanche cycle on 2/4 during the warm up. Some rather impressive and running full path. All were filled in with the recent newer low density snow in this area. The underlying crust at lower elevations slowly became less noticeable as we ascended. There was lots of signs of a strong wind that accompanied the warmest part of the storm cycle on the western aspect as we climbed but we did not notice any with the newest snow. We did not experience any collapses, cracking, or whumping in our travels. We eased into the terrain and made numerous ski cuts that initiated loose snow sluffs. These ran fast and had enough size to bury you or carry you over cliffs. We felt comfortable skiing in a larger avalanche path that had previously slide during the cycle, and we still used aggressive ski cuts to initiate loose snow sluffs. We avoided any avalanche terrain that did not look to have slide during the cycle, any recent wind affected slopes, and mid-elevation north facing slopes.
