. Ski penetration roughly 15 cm. Boot penetration roughly 45 cm. Density change roughly 15 cm down, presumably from wind affect February 26&27. At 7550’ on a NE aspect, 80 cm of new snow sits on top of the late January rain crust. Ski quality was high on all aspects without wind scour/affect. Cracking in the skin track isolated to near ridgetop and areas of obvious wind deposition. Dry loose present in terrain steep enough without wind affect.

Strong SW wind. Moderate wind transport. Snowing 1 cm/hr. Fog clearing after noon. Visibility too poor to observe any past avalanches in terrain I wasn’t standing in or on.
Snowpack
16” fresh snow since Feb. 24 at 7000’ Windslabs were present and building in isolated features on north, west, and south aspects. Widespread on east aspects. Wind loading obvious well below ridgetop on east aspects. Cornice growth since Feb. 21 was significant. At 7550’ on a NE aspect, Hand hardness test found a weakness in the snowpack 65 cm down, presumably the Feb 22/23 surface hoar/Facets that were buried on Feb. 25. CTN. Late January rain crust was found 80 cm down.
