Quick report
Observed a couple large crown lines on the Bastille. Hard to judge from the distance we had but they looked relatively fresh (see photos). >2.5 meters HS on Park Glacier at 7,000’. Lower Park and Rainbow glaciers had some very pronounced wind texturing, making for interesting ski conditions (luckilly it was also softened by the sun). Warm-hot pow higher on the glacier. Park headwall holding cold, soft snow and no signs of instability observed. One spot where crossing the schrund is pretty straightforward, but otherwise its open across the slope. Snow on Boulder glacier cold and dry-ish until about 8,500’, then warm pow below. Predictable spring conditions everywhere else with a supportable surface crust observed yesterday morning from Heather Meadows and above. Isothermal mush and poor travel on southerlies at lower elevations on our return in the late afternoon.
