Quick report
Toured talking mountain ridge today to "observe" the new snow. It was deep enough to make traveling uphill a laborious task, and downhill a joyful one. I did not get any signs of instability as I stomped on N/NE, 8,200 ft test slopes. Observed small storm slab fracture (6in deep crown) under a rocky summit feature, it appeared to have released prior to yesterday's snowfall, and was several days old. But I did stumble upon an interesting little piece of avalanche activity on my decent - well below treeline, around 7,600ft, NE slope. Pictured here, this slide appears to have released sometime either Monday evening or Tuesday morning. Which I am estimating by the lack of new snow coverage - between the sharp crown feature and "fresh" looking debris field. Meaning it would have had to release sometime near or after it stopped snowing yesterday/last night. It looks like a smaller slide triggered a subsequent slide on a steeper feature. I saw two distinct crowns and slide paths. It gave me storm slab vibes, but could have also been comprised of wind loaded snow.
