Quick report
We traveled from a High Meadow road out towards Bonus lap of Trimmer peak. In general the snowpack is still pretty shallow ~65cm and obstacles are still abundant. Despite low snow totals the snow traveled well on the way in and out. As we ascended small test features and slopes showed the potential for uncosolidated storm snow to gain momentum but no cracking was observed. I dug a pit on a NW aspect around 7400. The snowpack looked right side up with the Jan 1st rain crust in the middle. Compression test only resulted in progressive compression through the storm snow with poor sheer quality during collapsing. Shovel tilt test did not reveal any planar results in top 35cm of new snow. Our group kept the terrain selection under 30 degrees for the day and enjoyed some nice powder turns on the way down.

Overcast sky with benign winds and light to moderate snowfall throughout the entire day.
Snowpack
Generally, in this area, there is approximately 65 cm of snow from the ground up. Wet snow existed in the bottom 30cm of the snowpack. The January 1st rain layer was ~2cm thick . This rain crust was 1F to 4F hard in density and was pretty brittle. Above that was 30 to 35 cm unconsolidated snow with variant densities between 4F and 1F and F at the top 8cm. Overall, in each one of these layers, the snow was either wet or moist and compressible.
