Quick report
Dug a pit at 8000 feet on a ENE slope. We saw a snow depth of 175 cm, which has become much more consolidated. There are basal facets at the bottom 8". ECTN. Shovel shear showed three clear sudden planer breaks, at roughly 25, 75, and 100cm down. It rained all morning from 7600 feet all the way to the top at 8400. Snow was about as wet as I've ever seen, out exit left us soaked to the bone. Did not see other avalanches but from 7600 up was very poor visibility. No cracking or wumpfing was observed.
