We dug a pit on an east north east aspect at around 9,100' on Saint Mary's Peak. Over all snow depth was 95cm. There were several crusts layers deeper in the snow pack around 35, 45, 50, and 55CM. None of them where reactive. The main concern for us was the top layer of wind slab. We dug away from the main slope that had most the wind loading but we were able to ECTN 12 on the top 10CM of fresh wind slab with reactive propagation. The wind slab is much deeper in other areas of the slope. Where the slope is more wind loaded I knocked down a small cornice and couldn't get anything to slide. All the layers below were very well bonded and have been consolidating quite nicely. We opted to ski less wind-loaded terrain. Side note the west and south face of Saint Marys is completely wind stripped.
