We saw few signs of instability. Despite the large avalanche we saw no other avalanches, which is perhaps scariest, a true roulette. A few small collapses of thin wind slabs. My interpretation is a low chance of triggering avalanches, but surely a terrifying ride if you do.

One large avalanche in the bowl directly south of gash point, visible from the ridge line. It was triggered sometime in the past few days, after the storm. Difficult to tell crown depth, at least 2-3 feet deep. The entire path went including terrain at the edges between 30 and 35 degrees . It appeared to sympathetically trigger the small bowl next to it. Broken trees at the bottom of the path. Naturally triggered, no tracks in the area. Definitely deeper than a wind slab, perhaps stepped down to a weak layer.
