Quick report
Went on some adventure skiing from Mt. Hood Meadows to Cooper Spur. Overall the snow seemed to be feeling the heat more than the temperature implied. We don’t have those consolidated spring surface conditions just yet. - Wyeast Face: looks to be in great shape. Up to 9,000ft all snow seemed stable. - Newton-Clark Headwall: around this aspect, the snow turned punchy in spots when booting towards the NE. To the north of the headwall itself, crevasses are opening up (including two vertical ones that have just started opening) - Cooper Spur: incredibly punchy on this aspect. There is an existing bootpack but every step still punches through and sinks down to boot top consistently. I bailed at 10k due to slow progress and concern over the snow conditions with further heating. When crossing back across the Newton Clark I noticed several new rollerballs about as big as my chest. - Super Bowl: skied beautifully at 10:30am. Minor sluff, stable snow in the morning
