Quick report
Went up the squak in search of corn. Started probably a bit too early, 345AM from car. Got to the summit by 930AM, waited for around an hour, then headed down Roman Wall by 11AM or so. Roman Wall was firm but very edgeable, kinda like a late day re-frozen groomer (that is no longer groomed?). Turned the corner to go down Squak and it wasn't quite ready yet. Overcast skies, sun dogs, and wind made us think corn was not going to happen. Waited beneath Sherman for maybe 40 mins? (So ~1230pm by this point) Then said f*** it and started skiing down. Within 500' corn began and it didn't stop...lovely smooth ripper down to Crag View. Starting at Crag View it was more schmoo. Then near the trees it was quite pollen-y. Was able to ski down the more direct intersection to the W of the traverse on the Scott Paul trail, picked up the trail at ~4200. Some down walking required, no consistent snow below 4500. no instabilities noted.
Snowpack
Good re-freeze overnight WedsPM/ThursAM. Slightly post-holey in the trees to 4700 but then boot supportable in the clearing above 4700'. Squak route itself is smooth, not much surface texture (which is lovely for the down). Some boot postholes and schmoo-y ski tracks are visibly re-frozen but they don't span that much horizontal space on the glacier. Roman Wall is much more textured with re-frozen chonks and bits. Lots of bootpack too (somewhat obviously).
