Quick report
My friend and I encountered an alarming lack of snow when out visiting August Peak/Berry Peak/Virginia Peak/Martin Peak. The deepest snow we ran into was ~1' deep (boot pen was ~9"; snowshoe pen was ~3"), and was down in the Evans Creek basin on the Boundary Trail. The deepest snow seems to have accumulated in N/E facing aspects. Snow was found in other areas (notably the S side of Berry Peak in the shade), but the depth was lower than what we found in the Evans Creek basin (closer to 3"~5" deep). The trail/area was mostly dry, sans snow/melt-off and the temps were uncharacteristically warm for this time of year (in the 50°s at 8am; ~40° around 2pm when we left). Other area peaks like Florence Peak had lower than expected snowpack on south facing slopes. All of the peaks visited fall within the upper 4k' to mid 5k' range, height wise.
